Fiber Updates

Spinning: Not going so well. August's "Fiber of the Month" is silk. I have some in my stash, but still have not finished the bamboo (July's fiber). I have spun my Alpaca, but have not set the twist on the last little hank of yarn... I still have 100 lbs or so of raw fleece to clean, etc. Don't even get me started.

MS3: Went to KnitWits last night - got 8 balls of Patton's "Brilliant" - instead of beads, this stuff has a gold metalic thread in it. I know - I know - it's not lace yarn - I'll deal with it. I can see the stitches - and I am now using the written out chart, that helps.

KnitNight: It's tomorrow. Oh - crap -need to go bake cake - anyway - I did my 150 sts cast on, purled a row - so my homework is done!! Gotta go bake mini bunt cakes, totally forgot.

Harry Potter: I read until 11:30p last night. Can't recall what page I am on, but one of the Weasley boys lost his ear!! Yikes.

I don't want to Offend, but had to post this

Greetings blog snoopers. The following was in my inbox from my good friend "L" in Chicago. I hope this does not offend anyone, if so, please forgive. I know I have friends from all different walks of life, political views, etc. I love you all.

Here is the email:

Subject: This is the woman who should run for President

Written by a housewife from New Jersey and sounds like it! This is oneticked off lady.

"Are we fighting a war on terror or aren't we? Was it or was it not startedby Islamic people who brought it to our shores on September 11, 2001?

Were people from all over the world, mostly Americans, not brutallymurdered that day, in downtown Manhattan, across the Potomac from ournation's capitol and in a field in Pennsylvania? Did nearly three thousand men, women and children die a horrible, burning or crushing death that day, or didn't they?

And I'm supposed to care that a copy of the Koran was "desecrated" when an overworked American soldier kicked it or got it wet?...Well, I don't. I don't care at all. I'll start caring when
Osama Bin Laden turns himself in and repents for incinerating all those innocent people on
9/11.

I'll care about the Koran when the fanatics in the Middle East start caring about the Holy Bible,
the mere possession of which is a crime in SaudiArabia.

I'll care when these thugs tell the world they are sorry for hacking off Nick Berg's head while
Berg screamed through his gurgling slashed throat. I'll care when the cowardly so-called
"insurgents" in Iraq come out and fight like men instead of disrespecting their own religion by hiding in mosques.

I'll care when the mindless zealots who blow themselves up in search of nirvana care about the
innocent children within range of their suicide bombs.

I'll care when the American media stops pretending that their First Amendment liberties are
somehow derived from international law instead ofthe United States Constitution's Bill of Rights. In the meantime, when I hear a story about a brave marine roughing up anIraqi terrorist to obtain information, know this: I don't care.

When I see a fuzzy photo of a pile of naked Iraqi prisoners who have beenhumiliated in what amounts to a college-hazing incident, rest assured: Idon't care.

When I see a wounded terrorist get shot in the head when he is told not tomove because he might be booby-trapped, you can take it to the bank: I don't care.

When I hear that a prisoner, who was issued a Koran and a prayer mat, andfed "special" food that is paid for by my tax dollars, is complaining thathis holy book is being "mishandled," you can absolutely believe in your heart of hearts: I don't care.

And oh, by the way, I've noticed that sometimes it's spelled "Koran" andother times "Quran." Well, Jimmy Crack Corn and-you guessed it-I don't care!!

If you agree with this viewpoint, pass this on to all your E-mail friends. Sooner or later, it'll get to the people responsible for this ridiculousbehavior! If you don't agree, then by all means hit the delete button. Should you choose the latter, then please don't complain when more atrocitiescommitted by radical Muslims happen here in our great Country! And may I add:

"Some people spend an entire lifetime wondering if they made a differencein the world. But, the Marines don't have that problem." -- ! Ronald Reagan

I have another quote that I would like to add AND...I hope you forward all this.

"If we ever forget that we're One Nation Under God, then we will be a nation gone under." Also by.. Ronald Reagan

One last thought for the day: In case we find ourselves starting to believe all the Anti-Americansentiment and negativity, we should remember England 's Prime Minister Tony Blair's words during a recent interview. When asked by one of hisParliament members why he believes so much in America, he said: "A simple way to take measure of a country is to look at how many want in... And how many want out."

Only two defining forces have ever offered to die for you: 1. Jesus Christ2. The American G.
I. One died for your soul, the other for your freedom.

YOU MIGHT WANT TO PASS THIS ON, AS MANY SEEM TO FORGET BOTH OF THEM.AMEN!

**end of email**
Back to me: OK, so I know it seems "harsh" to say "I don't care" - when really, I want to feel for some of these wack jobs. Do they really believe that blowing themselves up will solve the problem?? How sad. Feel free to cut, paste, pass on. Whatever. We may not like the war - or any war, but I support our troops and it is my support of our troops that I jointed Socks for Soldiers!!

Karmic Butt Kicking

Well, it just gets better and better. Today I woke up to rain, which I love. Not that hot, humid summer rain, but a real winter type rain. I was out on the deck looking out at the trees, the canyon, enjoying the smells the sounds. Then it hit me - around the corner, on a picnic table, I have 2 fleeces - EXPOSED TO THE RAIN AND GETTING WET!! With curlers in my hair - I run - grab the bucket of cleaned (poop picked out) fleece and run for cover, pouring out sheep pee water stuff as I go (gross, hu?) - then back for the fleece that was on the sheet and then finally back for the bag with another full fleece in it. What a morning. I am now going to re-create my blog, with links, etc. Wish me luck.
