HSKS3 Swap

Call me crazy. I signed up for a swap in additon to SP11. This sounds like a ton of fun. I did the sorting quiz, and I was sorted into Hufflepuff!! I have posted our house flag to the right (see, take a look). Cute hu? Pal assignments will come out shortly. Soon, I hope. I am going to the Rib Cook-off in Reno this weekend - I'll be gone friday - Sunday - so HSKS pal, if you don't hear from me - that's why!!

On the SP11 front - I got some yummy stuff to send my pal. I need to buy a bubble envelope and then off in the mail it goes.

Socks for Soldiers: I decided I don't care for the plastic, flexible needles (size 1) that came with my official kit. So, the next round I will begin knitting onto some wooden needles. the needles are verry cool - they were homemade from a former SP swap buddy. Size 1 and stained in a walnut stain - very pretty. It warms my heart to know that my socks will be on a soldier's foot soon and his or her tootsies will be snuggle warm with a knitty hug from "home"

Have a knitterly weekend everyone.

I'm glad you joined the swap, and really pleased you are another Hufflepuffer! Have a great weekend away. You should have received your swap details by now, but if not, email me or leave a message on my blog and I will get back to you.

And I think its a great thing you are doing, knitting for the soldiers. It is a hug on a foot :)

I second what Adele said, that's awesome you're making something for the soldiers.

I was just dropping in to say hello to a fellow Hufflepuff!

I may just have to make you some washcloths to go with those socks! And one day you can share your button secret with me - I got it on my page but can't view the picture. Might have something to do with the 105 degree heat. And that makes me think that whatever we can do for the soldiers, guys AND gals, over in Iraq or Afghanastan, we should do.

Makes me proud to know you!

Hi Brooke!

I'm your partner for the Harry Potter Swap!

One thing that I will definitely send you, if you want it, is PLENTY OF FLEECE TO SPIN. But- I don't want to overwhelm you. Let me know if you have a carder, prefer to do the carding or not by yourself. Hint - I'll send you much more fleece if I don't have to card it myself! Time constraints, you know.

Also, I would like to ask if you would like your bag that I'm going to make to be something fun for daily use around town, something funky for special occasions, or something more geared toward hauling knitting projects around. Tell me your preferences in a good bag.

Also, Do you want me to use the Hufflepuff colors (black, brown, gold) as part of the theme or would you rather have different colors?

Natasha
